Dr Sanders grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from Girls Preparatory School, she received a bachelor of science in pre-med biology as well as a bachelor of arts in english from Lee University, from where she graduated magna cum laude. She attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine before returning home for residency at the UT College of Medicine Chattanooga Campus at Baroness Erlanger Hospital. She is a board certified fellow of the American College of Obstetricians/Gynecologists. She is also a certified diplomate of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
Dr Sanders feels that her "job" is a calling and passionately enjoys working in this field of medicine. Being the first to lay hands on a miraculous new life has not been an opportunity that she has taken for granted. Advocating to protect these tiny lives is certainly part of what drew her into her specialty. During this season of her career, however, she is focused on the office management of GYN concerns in her patients as she has transitioned to a GYN only practice. Helping women in all seasons of their lives maximize their health is of great importance!
She has special interest in missions work and serves on the board at Shepherd's Arms Rescue Mission, which was founded by her parents and is located in South Chattanooga. In 2022, Fearfully & Wonderfully Made GYN moved their clinic to the Shepherd’s Arms campus. Also serving on the board at Score International in a medical advisory role, Dr Sanders loves to participate in a medical/dental mission trip to the Dominican Republic, which has grown to have a very special place in her heart. Outside of the Dominican Republic, she has participated in short-term medical missions trips to Ghana, El Salvador, and Nepal as well. Aside from her interest in missions, she is also passionate about advocating for the rights of the preborn and partners with The Care Center located in Dayton, TN. Dr. Sanders has previously also served on the Board of Trustees for Parkridge Medical Center.
She is married to her husband Seth and they have two rescue pups - Jesse and Jethro.
